Service Area
Montrose sits up on the plateau, well above the river valleys, and the ground behaves completely differently up here. Colder winters and soil that holds water make frost the thing we plan around on a Montrose liner job.
Local Knowledge
Montrose is upland Susquehanna County — heavy channery silt loams over shallow shale, mostly the Bath, Mardin and Volusia series. They share a dense fragipan layer about 18 to 24 inches down that water simply will not drain through. What that gives you is trapped water sitting near the surface right through spring and autumn, held against your pool walls. Come winter it freezes and expands, and frost lines run 42 to 48 inches deep up here. That is what cracks decking, tilts coping and pushes wall panels out of true. On a Montrose re-line we spend real time on what is behind the wall before we hang anything, because a liner fitted to a panel that has been shoved out of line will never sit right no matter how good the liner is.
Montrose and the surrounding plateau are mostly on wells, and filling a pool from a well is the single biggest planning issue on a job up here. Plenty of wells cannot deliver that volume without running low and pulling sediment into your fresh water. We would far rather arrange trucked water and fill it in one go than watch you nurse a well for three days.
